Wed Joke 2

Found on the Internets (once again, a true story) from a veterinarian telling workplace stories:

— У нас котик странно себя ведёт. (Достают трупик котика.) Он лежит на одном месте и к еде не подходит — уже три или четыре дня.
— У вас котик умер.
— Как умер?! Он не мог умереть! Он ещё молодой! Ему только семнадцать лет!
— Для кота это очень приличный возраст.
— Ну и что? Я вот слышал, что некоторые доживают до 30 лет! Сделайте ему укол! Ну сделайте ему хоть что-нибудь! Может быть, его ещё можно оживить!

- Our kitty is behaving very strangely (removing cat body from a carrier) He's been lying in one place and not eating, maybe 3 or 4 days already.
- Your cat is dead.
- What do you mean he is dead?? He could not have died! He is very young! He is only seventeen years old!
- Well, that's a very advanced age for a cat.
- So what? I've heard there are cats who live to be 30! Give him a shot! Give him something! Maybe he can be brought back to life!

Wed Joke

Read on the Interwebs today (presented as a true story)

Russia's president Medvedev was visiting a certain Siberian city. About two hours before the presidential cortege was to travel down main street (appropriately titled Oil Workers Street) someone discovered that one of the theatres had a billboard announcing the next production. It was to be a children's story, with the following title being featured quite prominently:

"We wait for you, oh happy gnome!"

According to the onlookers, the billboard was torn down in record time, obliterating all traces of its existence.

In honor of Easter - food...

Toni Bourdain in his “Les Halles Cookbook” expresses the following:

"Good cooks do not exist in a vacuum…Think of food like drugs. If you were a druggie, and you moved to a new and unfamiliar town, chances are you wouldn’t know where to score your drug of choice. First thing you’d do is to seek out other drug users. You’d pick out an obvious spot, like the parking lot of a methadone clinic, a bad part of town, a pawnshop, a Phish concert, and you’d make “friends” with fellow travelers of similar interests. Soon, no doubt after a few bad experiences, some trial and error, you would find what you need. Same thing with food. Kind of.”
